REVIEWS
Taking one step at a time and listening to nature through the teachings of a 1000 year old tradition, enables you to rediscover a clarity and understanding of what it means to be a human being living in unison with the natural process. -D. S.

REVIEWS
The program is a really good way to take a step back and become more aware of things. Life often goes fast, and I think it's good to take it a little bit slower sometimes. I still catch myself sometimes not appreciating what I have, and then I instantly think back to the week we had, and take it a bit slower again. -A. T.

REVIEWS
I still carry that wisdom in my heart, my soul and mind every morning when I wake up. Sometimes in the morning I chant some of the prayers we were taught. I not only recommend doing it, I beg you to do it, live it, experience it, and keep it with you. I will definitely be coming back one day. The only word I still wake up to every day is Uketamo. - K.K.

YAMABUSHI TRAINING

Yamabushi training is as intense as it gets. No talking. No reading or writing. No clocks. Just you, nature, and Uketamo, the philosophy of the yamabushi.
Yamabushi Training is not for the average person. It purposely takes you well out of your comfort zone and challenges you in a way only these mountains can.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, we have two programs for you:

The journey begins with two days at a Zen temple, continues with three days traversing the sacred peaks of Mt. Haguro, Mt. Gassan, and Mt. Yudono, and concludes with two days of integration and reflection under the guidance of a Yamabushi master.

PILGRIMAGE-STYLE TRAINING
.webp?width=1500&height=1500&name=IMG_4477%20(2).webp)
We understand not everyone wants or needs the intensity and seriousness of the Masters and Basic trainings, but they still want the opportunity for self development.
Pilgrimage-style trainings are steeped in centuries of journeys to the sacred mountains of Dewa in what is known as Dewa Sanzan Ko. Pilgrimage-style trainings are less intense, but still maintain the core philosophy of Uketamo and many of the same activities out in nature, just with the added opportunity to ask the yamabushi master questions throughout.
